In his offices, he receives patients with complaints of pains and various restrictions in the hip and knee joints.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Who would be advised to meet him for a consultation?<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you suffer from pain in the knee or hip region for an extended period of time, and have not been given a solution by the orthopedic surgeon at your HMO.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you suffer from restrictions in your daily activities, because of difficulty in movement, and pain in the joints of the leg.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have been recommended for surgery, and you would like an additional opinion.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you suffer from a known degenerative disease of the cartilage in the hip or the knee, and you have come to the decision that the time has come to undergo surgery.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>How do you make an appointment for a consultation?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can call 03 \u2013 624 4299<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Where is the consultation held?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The consultation will take place in Dr. Bar Ziv\u2019s private office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Area CU, Building B, Floor 1, 3 HaNehoshet Street, Ramat Hahayal, Tel Aviv.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also come to a consultation at Assaf HaRofeh Medical Center, with a referral from your HMO, and an appointment at the orthopedic, outpatients\u2019 clinic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What should you bring to the consultation?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>An up to date (no more than six months old) x-ray image of the problematic joint:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For pain in the pelvic region, you should bring an x-ray of the hips AP, standing, and an x-ray of the hips in an axial position<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For pain in the knee region, to the first meeting, you should bring, an x-ray of the knees AP, standing and lateral, and in addition you should bring an x-ray of the pelvis and the hips AP standing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any medical material connected to the problem, and any additional material that could help in completing the picture of your medical condition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can ask your family doctor at your HMO for a referral for x-rays.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How is the consultation meeting conducted?<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the start of the meeting, Dr. Bar Ziv listens to the patient\u2019s description of the medical problem.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He asks to see the up to date x-ray images of the affected area, and the results of any other tests that there might be.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conducts a physical examination of the joints.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gives his opinion, verbally and in writing, of the patient\u2019s medical condition.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replies to questions<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gives his recommendations, and refers to further tests, and the continuation of the investigation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Additional treatments provided by the office include:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A diagnostic injection of an anesthetic substance into the hip or knee joint, given when there is some doubt as to the source of the pain, or we want to confirm a clinical diagnosis.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An injection, for the purpose of treatment, of steroids or lubricant, into the hip or knee joint.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The way to diagnose and treat complex medical problems, is by consulting a specialist doctor.
